Position Overview
The HR Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of all human resource functions within the healthcare organization. This role ensures effective workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and compliance with healthcare labour regulations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the HR Director partners with clinical and administrative leaders to foster a positive workplace culture and ensure that the organization attracts, develops, and retains a highly skilled healthcare workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership

- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
- Advise executive leadership on workforce trends, staffing needs, and organizational development.
- Support organizational change management and drive cultural initiatives.
- Work with CFO in implementing a Group wide HR and Payroll system.
- Workforce Planning & Talent Management

- Oversee recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding of clinical, nursing, allied health, and administrative staff.
- Develop succession planning, leadership development, and talent retention strategies.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient care and operational requirements.
- Employee Relations & Engagement

- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions fairly and consistently.
- Oversee employee engagement surveys, action planning, and recognition programs.
- Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs tailored to healthcare industry needs.
- Oversee HR policies, payroll, and administrative processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Establish and monitor HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee satisfaction to drive improvement.
- Training & Development

- Develop training programs to enhance clinical and non-clinical staff skills.
- Ensure mandatory training (compliance, patient safety, workplace safety) is completed organization wide.
- Promote continuing education and professional growth opportunities for healthcare staff.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with labour laws, healthcare employment regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Oversee employee health, safety, and wellness initiatives in line with healthcare sector requirements.
- Manage HR audits, reporting, and documentation for regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within healthcare or a highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare workforce regulations, credentialing, and accreditation requirements.
- Proven track record in workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, IHRP) and experience in HR transformation project is an advantage.
